Base Recipe

Sweet and Salty Version Additions

Sweet and Spicy Version Additions

  • 0.5 - 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 0.5 Teaspoon Chili Powder
  • 0.175 to 0.25 Cayenne Pepper Powder

Instructions

  • Mix: Add all your ingredients to a large bowl. Toss pecans together until ingredients are fully incorporated.
  • Prepare Air Fryer: Cut a piece of parchment paper to fit inside your air fryer basket. Make sure the parchment goes up the walls of your basket at least a quarter inch as this will contain the liquids as they cook.
  • Cook: Add the pecans to the prepared air fryer in a single layer. Set the air fryer's temperature to 350 F (175 C). Cook for 5-6 minutes. At the 3 minute mark, give the contents a good stir to help keep the pecans evenly covered.
  • Serve: Let the pecans cool and then either eat or store.

Notes

  • Note 1: See article above for customization ideas.
  • Note 2: Oven method: Preheat your oven to 350 F (175 C). Spread out your nut mixture in a single layer on a lined tray and bake  until they are no longer sticky. This can take anywhere from 20-40 minutes. Make sure you are stirring and rotating the tray every 10 minutes to keep the pecans from burning or cooking unevenly.
  • Note 3:  Is it OK to put parchment paper in an air fryer? Yes! We do this all the time. It's a great way to keep the inside of the basket of the air fryer clean.
  • Note 4: If you want to try other nuts, this recipe should work well with walnuts, almonds, cashews, or even peanuts! Make sure to keep an eye on the time, though, because I haven't tested this recipe with any other nuts and they might require a different cooking time.
