Ingredients
Units
Scale
- 1/2 cup Rolled Oats (See Note 1)
- 3/4 cup Unsweetened Soy Milk
- 1 to 1.5 Teaspoon Matcha Powder
- 1 Tablespoon White Chia Seeds
- 2 Tablespoons Agave
- 3 Tablespoon Vegan White Chocolate Chips
- 1/4 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Instructions
- Grab Your Jar: You want the right jar for the right job. We used 16-ounce jar with a sealable lid. Any bigger or smaller and you'll have to adjust the recipe.
- Heat the Milk: Place your milk in a microwave safe measuring cup. Heat it for 20 to 30 seconds. It should be hot but not boiling.
- Mix the Matcha: Pour the hot milk in to the jar. Add the matcha and stir in. You may want to use an electric frother to make things easier (or use a blender!). (Alternatively, if you're familiar with using a matcha whisk and bowl, sift in your matcha, add a tablespoon or two of the warm milk and whisk the matcha that way.)
- Add Everything Else: Add the liquid ingredients, mix, then the dry ingredients, and mix again. Taste the liquids as now is the best time to adjust the sweetness level. Be sure to reserve a tablespoon of white chocolate chips if you want it as a topping too.
- Refrigerate: Seal the jar and add it to your fridge. Let chill and absorb for at least 6 hours or until morning.
- Serve: Add any fruit toppings, such as blueberries or raspberries and enjoy your matcha oats!
Notes
- Note 1: Used rolled oats. Quick oats get too mushy and steel cut oats are too thick and will not get soft enough.
- Note 2: Top your oats with blueberries, strawberries, slivered almond or walnuts.
