This Coffee Milkshake is a super special treat for coffee lovers. With a little cold brew coffee, ice cream, and almond milk, you'll have a fun way to perk yourself up. It's such an easy recipe!

Hey Internet, we've got some more homemade milkshakes for you today. We've made Tahini Milkshakes, Coconut Milkshakes, and Matcha Milkshakes. All of them are plant-based and delicious!

This time, we've got one to really perk us up mid-day with some strong coffee flavor. We had some cold brew coffee that we needed to use up. A cold coffee drink on a hot summer day was in order. Using some vegan ice cream we had leftover, we made these delicious coffee milkshakes in no time. You'll have no problem making these in 5 minutes or less!

Why You'll Love This Creamy Coffee Milkshake

  • 4 Ingredient Recipe: The base recipe of this cold drink has super easy to find and use ingredients. It's 5 or 6 if you want the chocolate syrup and vegan whipped cream, but without them this recipe is still a sweet treat!
  • Super Fast: Just pop them in the blender and they'll be done!
  • Caffeinated Tasty Treats: This coffee shake recipe is an easy and fun way to get yourself going again.

Ingredients

Pick up these simple ingredients the next time you're at a grocery store. See the recipe card at the bottom of this post for full ingredients, instructions, and accurate nutritional information (to the best of my ability; please consult your physician or healthcare professional if you have specific dietary needs). I give substitutions for the ingredients in the section below this one, so most people can still make this recipe!

  1. 0.75-1 Cup Coconut Ice Cream: You can add or subtract from this amount depending on what creamy consistency you want in your shake. Add more for a thick consistency, less for a thinner milkshake.
  2. 0.5 Cup of Ice: Cubes from an ice cube tray or from you refrigerator's ice maker will work great for this.
  3. 0.5 Cup Cold Brew Coffee: We use SToK Cold Brew Coffee for this recipe, but any cold brew should work just as well. See the substitutions section if you want to use a different type of coffee.
  4. 1-3 teaspoon Maple Syrup
  5. Toppings, Optional: Try toppings like chocolate syrup and whipped cream.

Substitutions

  • Cold Brew Coffee: Instant Coffee Powder or espresso powder can be used, as long as you mix it ahead of time with some cold water. Since we are blending it, it should have no problem incorporating into our creamy milkshake. If you are using a fresh brewed coffee, for the best results chill it in the fridge or freezer, depending on how soon you want your milkshake.
  • Maple Syrup: Agave makes for a great replacement. You could also make a simple syrup as well. The key thing is to have a liquid sweetener so it incorporates well in the mixture.
  • Coconut Ice Cream: Almond ice cream and soy ice cream will work equally in place of the coconut ice cream. We find coconut ice cream provides a richer taste that makes for delicious shakes. It makes a big difference if you end up using the chocolate!
  • Optional Toppings: This chocolate syrup is great for the milkshake. You could also incorporate a little cocoa powder into the mix for a hint of chocolate flavor. You can also add some whipped cream to the top of your milkshake.

How To Make Coffee Milkshakes

  1. Add to Blender: Add your cold brew coffee, ice cubes, coconut ice cream and maple syrup to a high speed blender.
  2. Blend: Blend the ingredients for about 20 to 30 seconds. To alter the consistency, add more ice cream for thicker and a little bit of non-dairy milk or water for thinner.
  3. Chocolate Swirl, Optional: Take your glass in one hand and your chocolate syrup in another. Tilt the cup on an angle and then rotate it as you pour the syrup in.
  4. Serve: Add the blended shake to your glass and then add any toppings you want!
