If you’re looking for the best Vegan New Year’s Eve Recipes, look no further because I’ve got you covered. Whether you want an epic, feels-fancy meal or you’d rather graze on small bites, I’ve rounded up my favorite recipes for the last night of the year.
Hey Internet, what are your New Year’s Eve traditions? We ate Hors d'Oeuvres growing up--feels-fancy finger foods. It was like an all night grazing session while watching movies and the countdown to the new year.
I personally love enjoying snackish foods while thinking about my intentions for the year ahead.
But I also know a lot of people who want another holiday-ish meal, complete with an exciting and filling main dish.
So I’ve put together a dual recipe roundup--featuring fun snacks and appetizers (some on the fancier side, some more casual) as well as epic main dishes.
It’s kind of like a Choose Your Own Adventure: New Year’s Eve edition. Anyone? Anyone? Oh. Fine then.
Grab your preferred beverages and get ready to party at home or wherever, vegan style.
Are You Team Hors d’Oeuvres for NYE?
We always had finger foods or snacks growing up on New Year’s Eve.
My older brother and I would stay up until midnight, enjoying fruit, the fancy Hors d’Oeuvres my mom made us, and fancy “mixed drinks” (soda with juice, hah).
Mom made fun things like a blue cheese nut wafers, spinach balls, and little puff pastry tarts with cheese… notice a trend here?
There’s a reason I like cheese so much.
Your vegan Hors d’Oeuvres don’t need to be fancy or whatever pre-conceived notion you have when you hear this fun to say (but not to spell) phrase.
They just need to be what you like.
More into cheese? Check out my nut-free vegan cheeses.
Prefer faux meat? Try some of my seitan like my vegan pepperoni or vegan pigs in a blanket.
Or if you’re more into veggies, I'm sure you’ll love my vegan stuffed mushrooms.
The important thing is that it’s fun to eat and it feels like something special, something out of the ordinary.
That’s what makes a great vegan New Year’s Eve. Scroll down a little to find my round up of small-bites vegan New Year’s Eve recipes.
Or Team Epic Vegan Meal for NYE?
Maybe you’re in the mood for something that either takes a little more work or maybe it just SEEMS like it would be more work but it’s actually quite easy.
Or maybe you just want another opportunity to enjoy a rich, epic, main dish for a special occasion before we head into dreary January and February (or maybe I just think it’s dreary because I live in Illinois, haha).
Whatever your reason is, I’ve got you covered with some fancy and filling vegan New Year’s Eve recipes.
Make sure to pair these with your favorite beverages, desserts, and entertainment.
Hosting a Party?
Are you hosting a fun get together for the last night of the year? Or responsible for bringing a dish to someone else’s party?
Any of the dishes you see below are portable and fairly easy to prepare, so you can serve them to guests no matter what your situation.
Whether you’re making an elaborate spread like this vegan charcuterie board or something a little smaller, we’ve got tons of recipes for you to choose from--all of which are vegan and easy to prepare.
Or Celebrating at Home?
No matter what’s going on in the world, we at Zardyplants certainly understand the preference to stay at home.
We don’t mean to call ourselves hermits… but we are more of the sort who enjoy a quiet evening at home.
But just because you’re home, and perhaps in your PJs (we certainly are), that doesn’t mean it has to be any less special of a night.
Pour yourself a glass of whatever feels fancy to you (we really love sparkling juice, or try one of these fun drink recipes) and enjoy any of the below recipes.
Because your group is smaller, maybe you’ll have leftovers which makes the first day of the year that much easier.
Or, use the excuse of a special night to cook early and enjoy the fruits of your labor all night long. It’s the last night of the year anyway, right?
Anyway, let’s get into these fun vegan New Year’s Eve recipes.
